Thoughtful Additions for Any Holiday Guestroom

Do you plan to entertain overnight guests over the holidays? If so, it’s a great time to get those rooms ready! Here are some things you’ll want to consider including to help your guests feel more at home.

Extra Bedding
Make sure your guests’ space includes an extra set of bed sheets and a few blankets of different weights to keep them comfortable.

Mini-Steamer
Help guests enjoy crease-free clothes by stocking the room with a mini-steamer to go over clothing that may have been wrinkled by traveling.

Nightstand
If you have space for a small bedside table, it can become the main station for a visitor’s items.

Pillows
Include a variety of extra pillows to fit your guest’s needs. A body pillow, armrest pillow and additional bed pillows are all helpful for guests who read in bed. Make the guests feel most comfortable by letting them know they can use or move the pillows wherever they like.

Reading Material
Stock your guestroom with a few best-selling books and magazines to let guests do some late night reading as they wind down for the night.

Tissues and Toiletries
Include a box of tissues in the bathroom, and next to the bed too. A simple sneeze shouldn’t send a visitor darting down the hall. Also stock some basic toiletries like toothpaste and shampoo, and add in a luxurious hand cream.

Trays
Place a tray next to the bed for your guest’s jewelry or glasses, and put another one in the bathroom for their toiletries.

Universal Charger
Practically everyone has a mobile device to be charged, but those charging cords are ready to forget–or lose–in travel. Invest in a universal charger and make sure the outlets are free and accessible.
